Well, I managed to make it through the Macy’s Asian Pacific American Heritage Month event without embarrassing myself! Much.
It was awesome to meet Chef Katie Chin, who just released her new book of recipes inspired by her mother’s cooking. She shared four awesome recipes, including: Firecracker Shrimp, Spicy Beef Skewers, Potstickers, and Pineapple Fried Rice, and it was great getting to know more about her experience growing up in her mother’s kitchen in Minnesota.
We talked about a few of the things we have in common––like how long it took us to perfect the perfect dumpling pleat, and attendees got to sample all of the recipes afterwards. Thanks to everyone who came out to the event!
